Located at the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre, this location was ACCESS’ first office and today remains as ACCESS’ busiest Employment Assistance Service Site. The ACCESS Employment Centre provides services to clients throughout Metro Vancouver including: Fully equipped resource area with job boards, computers, internet, phones, photocopying and faxing services One-on-one employment counseling Facilitated group workshops Individual client funding for seat purchases, targeted wage subsidies, and work gear Referral to ACCESS funded programs.

ACE is ACCESS’s employment assistance unit in the downtown eastside. It delivers an assortment of training, counselling, support and financial services designed to help members of the urban Aboriginal community overcome employment barriers that may stand in the way of success and self-sufficiency. These services include:
Employment readiness assessment
Job search preparation, job search assistance, and job referrals
Employment and career counselling
Career planning
Training sponsorship
Financial assistance for job related bus transportation and work gear.

ATEC is a partnership between ACCESS, Sto:lo Aboriginal Skills and Employment Training. (SASET) and the Metis Nation BC (MNBC). ATEC provides assistance to clients in developing realistic employment goals, becoming self-sufficient in job search, developing work skills through vocational training that match the needs of the labour market, and developing personal management skills to help maintain and sustain their employment goal. We offer the following services:
Resource Centre - Drop-in, unassisted services for self-directed job search and career research
Individual Employment Counselling for Job Search, Career Planning and Individual Action Planning
Group Workshops for Career Planning and Job Search
Funding for Training – explain the process and determine your eligibility for skills development training
UNYA Native Youth Learning Centre

Funded in parternship with Access, the Native Youth Learning Centre is a youth-driven employment program designed to increase computer literacy, and encourage youth to engage in e-learning, and develop the skills that will assist them in seeking, securing, and maintaining employment. Through workshops and guided tutorials, these programs offer an added opportunity to strengthen community partnership and address Aboriginal-specific issues that derive from socio-economic barriers particularity in the Vancouver Eastside.
Project Objectives:
To foster empowerment among Native youth by enhancing their knowledge of and access to computers, the Internet, and e-learning opportunities, including those that are employment-based.
To provide Native youth with opportunities for educational and personal development, and skill-building that is accessible and relevant to their needs, thus increasing/improving their opportunities to create changes in their own lives and experience success in educational and employment pursuits.
